Reading Excellence Award

The school’s efforts in promoting school-wide reading were affirmed when we received a Reading Excellence Award (Second Place) in an event organised by the National Library Board and the Ministry of Education.

Floorball Colours Award

The National Schools Colours Award recognises students for their contributions in representing their school teams, and achievements in sports and games within the Singapore Schools Sports Council (SSSC) Sporting Calendar. The SSSC Colours Award (Floorball) has been awarded to our ‘B’ division Floorball girls for their outstanding performance this year. We are proud of their achievements and wish them all the best next year!


BMSS Unformed Groups Strike Gold Again!

BM’s National Cadet Corp, Scouts and St John Ambulance Brigade achieved Gold Awards for their respective units in recognition of excellence in their CCA programmes. A    special mention goes to our Scouts Unit which received the Honours Pennant 2015, an award given to units that have attained the Frank Cooper Sands Award for five     consecutive years. Well done to all our Uniformed Groups!

SJB Chief Commissioner’s Badge

Five SJB members have earned the Chief Commissioner’s Badge, the highest honour an SJB cadet can obtain in his/her secondary school life. We congratulate SSGT Tiah Jhan Rei (4E),  SSGT Allexisse Charmaine (4F), SSGT Stella Lim Sze Chee (5A), SSGT Pang Siew Juan (5A) and  SGT Nur Syazwani Bte Muhammad H (4D) for receiving this prestigious badge.


Mathematics Competitions 2015

In the Singapore Mathematical Olympiad, Ou Lexuan (3G) received an Honourable Mention, while Koh Guan Tsin (3G) and Zhou Xin Yuan (3G) earned Bronze awards.

In the 2015 Mathematics International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS), Merahans did well with 4 High Distinctions, 6 Distinctions, 20 Credits, 18 Merit awards and 8 Bronze awards. The Silver awards were earned by Ou Lexuan (3G), Koh Guan Tsin (3G), Shen Shu Hsuan (3G).

UNSW International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (English 2015)

Out of a total of 95 BMSS students who participated in the UNSW ICAS (English), four students achieved the Credit Award and six students the Merit Award. The top scorers were Philip Abad Miranda (3H), Neosho Arif (3G), Verlyn Tan (3G), and Jasper Sim (2E). Well done!


Top 6 Finalists in YES Challenge

The ‘Young Entrepreneurship (YES) Challenge 2015 – Can You Sell It?’ was held at the Singapore Polytechnic during the June holidays. BM’s YEC team of Bryan Tan Zher Hao (3H), Denise Wan Chin Mun (3G) and Gracie Lee En (2D) emerged as one of the Top 6 finalists. Congratulations!
